Meeting call to order

7:30 P.M. -- General Meeting Called to Order with Pledge of Allegiance after the work session.

Approval of Minutes

Motion by Pardue to approve the minutes from the General Meeting on 8/13/07, 2nd by Martenson. Motion voted, all in favor.

Announcements

There will be a zoning hearing Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 7PM by the request for a variance change from Newton Township’s setback requirement by Darren and Becky Kizer of Newton Ransom Blvd.

New Business

  • 1984 Truck Bids - Bids for the truck were received with the largest bid of $2900.00 received from Dave’s Auto Sales of Simpson, PA. Motion by Martenson to accept the $2900.00 bid from Dave’s Auto Sales – if the bidder backs out, the bid will go to Chuck Guditus Blacktopping for $2500.00, 2nd by Koldjeski. Motion voted, all in favor.
  • Bridge Lane - No bids were received for the paving work on Bridge Lane and will be put out for bid again with the bids due by noon on Monday, October 8, 2007.
  • Grace Hill @ Fords Lake Major Subdivision - Supervisors approval of this subdivision does not approve the zoning shown on the plans and only approves the actual subdivision of the land. Motion by Martenson to approve the subdivision as presented, 2nd by Koldjeski. Motion voted, all in favor.
  • Kochmer Subdivision - LCRPC approval has not yet been received. A verbal approval was received by Seaman’s only. Motion by Koldjeski to table until review is received back from LCRPC, 2nd by Martenson. Motion voted, all in favor.
  • Eckels Subdivision (Port Royal Road) - Motion by Martenson to approve the Keith Eckel Major Subdivision on Port Royal Road, 2nd by Koldjeski. Motion voted, all in favor.

Standing Committee Reports

POSTED - Planning Commission

Road Master

Martenson reported that the road crew has doing shoulder work. Martenson inspected the pave cuts done by Guditus and work is satisfactorily done. DPW will need to fill in at the edges of the pave cuts that were paved.

Planning Commission

Haan stated that the Commission recommended approval of Eckels, Kochmer and Grace Hill Subdivisions.

Rec Committee

Sandy LaCoe reported that the preschool started today, classes starting this week. 5th and 6th Grade dances are being planned for once a month. There are plans being made for a roast beef dinner and there will be soup sales. The Halloween party is planned for October 27, 2007 from 10am to 12noon. The golf tournament on August 26, 2007 made approx. $4,000 profit. The old boiler has been dismantled and the old dishwasher. The center cannot do the boiler replacement this year. The roof needs to have more permanent repairs that will cost approx. $6,400 and will have a 10-year warranty. The center will need to hire someone to do maintenance on the boiler and the heavy snow shoveling.

Wage Tax Collector

Sherman presented the Board with her resignation effective October 1. She stated that she will help with anything that she can.

Solicitor Report

Sileo reported that a rejection and denial has been sent to Woodhaven Crest. A letter will be going out to Linda Lombardo regarding the purchase of property in Summit Lake Acres. Hidden Valley has not yet received their highway occupancy permit – bad communications with PADOT.

Bills were signed and discussed. Motion by Koldjeski to pay the bills as presented, 2nd by Martenson. Motion voted, all in favor.

Being no further public input and discussion, Martenson motioned to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Koldjeski. Motion voted, all in favor.
