Meeting Called to Order

Meeting Called to Order at 7:40PM after two conditional use hearings.

New Business

  • Global Winds Harvest - Mr. Dan Albano, Global Winds Harvest came before the Board to introduce himself. Mr. Albano’s company deals in wind turbines. The company is looking to place 10-15 wind turbines on Bald Mountain. The company is at the very first stages and they have approached property owners.
  • Wage Tax Collector - Due to the resignation of Bonnie Sherman, motion by Martenson to appoint Darlene Welter as Newton Township Wage Tax Collector and Sue Holweg as the assistant wage tax collector at the same commission schedule, 2nd by Koldjeski. Motion voted, all in favor.
  • Bonnie Sherman - Supervisors discussed a gift to express the Township’s appreciation for the many years she served the Township as wage tax collector. Miller to call and ask when would be a good time to send the DPW to pick up the copier/fax.
  • Pensions - Miller discussed the review of the consulting firm concerning the pension plans. A letter will be sent to Trollinger to request cost studies.
  • Hilltop Drive - Miller received a complaint with the road dust on Hilltop Drive. Martenson requests that the road crew purchase some calcium chloride.
  • 2008 Budget - Supervisors were presented with a preliminary budget to review. A meeting will be scheduled at Monday night’s meeting.
  • Rec Center - Fax was received from Sue Sherman requesting deposit tickets so that employees can make deposits. Miller to check with insurance company to see if there is a clause to cover this request. Otherwise, deposits will remain the same.

Bills were signed and discussed. Payroll and tax checks were signed.

Being no further discussion, meeting adjourned. Motion by Martenson to adjourn, 2nd by Koldjeski. Motion voted, all in favor.
