Meeting Called to Order
Meeting Called to Order at 7:40PM with Pledge of Allegiance.
New Business
- HA Thomson - BJ Guiglianni came before the Board to discuss the liability insurance for the Township and reviewed open claims. The renewal rate has decreased
by $4,000.00.
- Pileggi Sewage Facility - Pileggi presented the Township with plans that he claims have not changed but he did address the concerns of the Township Engineer.
Plans will be submitted to Ned Slocum for review and the maintenance agreement will be submitted to Sileo for review. Board stated that the fees for the engineer were not paid from
last time and after checking with Slocum, Pileggi will need to put money into an escrow for further reviews.
- SAPA - : Lee Jamison came to the meeting to discuss the outcome of a conversation Koldjeski had with the planner, Joe Buckavetsky. Koldjeski stated that he
explained to Buckavetsky that the Township was only concerned with the agricultural zoning definition. Buckavetsky is supposed to get a definition revision back to the Township but we
have not received anything so far.
- EMS Ordinance - Newton Township Board of Supervisors reviewed an ordinance for the emergency and municipal services tax which would replace the occupational privilege tax.
Motion by Koldjeski to advertise Ordinance 2008-2 to increase the privilege tax to $52, 2nd by Martenson. Motion voted, all in favor. The advertisement will be published for the next three weeks
with the hearing on Friday, November 28, 2008 at 7PM.
- Resolution 2008-2 - Osbert Patton presented a revised resolution for the fees, wages and procedures for sewage enforcement for next year at a 3% increase. Motion by Koldjeski
to pass Resolution 2008-2 regarding the fees for sewage enforcement, 2nd by Martenson. Motion voted, all in favor.
- Certified Public Accountant - Due to the death of our past CPA, the Township solicited bids for the auditing of the 2008 Township books. Bids were received from Eckersley & Ostrowski
for $2250 to $2750, Ginader and Jones for $3600 and Murphy, Dougherty and Company for $4100. Motion by Martenson to accept the bid of Ginader & Jones for $3600, 2nd by Koldjeski. Motion voted, all in favor.

Zoning Hearing will take place on Monday, October 13, 2008 at 5:30PM.

- 2009 Budget - Board finished the 2009 proposed budget and approved it for advertisement for public review before its passage at the December meeting.
Bills were signed and discussed.
Being no further discussion, meeting adjourned. Motion by Martenson to adjourn, 2nd by Koldjeski. Motion voted, all in favor.
