New Business

  • Eckel / Countryside Community Church Conditional Use - John Seamans presented the Commission with plans for the layout of the proposed church to be located on Orchard Drive. Seamans explained that the church planners still had no idea what size church there will be just yet. There will be parking on the westerly side. The basement will be accessed by the north and east sides. The brown triangles on the map represent perc sites done in November and the magenta triangles represent perc sites done in February with DEP. The church is a permitted use in an agricultural zone with an approved conditional use. Church will provide land development plans when prepared. Motion by Stemphoski that this is an appropriate use as a conditional use and meets the requirements of our zoning ordinance of Section 702.2 M, 2nd by Holweg. Motion voted, all in favor.

Unfinished Business

  • Eckels Subdivision - Comments were received by Lackawanna County Regional Planning Commission stating this subdivision may require PADEP approval. No additional comments and approved.
  • Keisling Subdivision - : Comments received by LCRPC state that three small wetland sections and a pond wetland exist within the primary rectangular area of parcel 2. These wetlands have been delineated. The subdivision has no effect on the existing wetlands. Should the Township Planning Commission or Board of Supervisors determine that any future construction on the subdivided lots may adversely affect these wetlands, all DEP and local regulations, especially concerning buffer zones, must be met as well as acquiring the appropriate permits from the regulating governing agency.
  • Thompson Subdivision - Comments received from LCRPC stated approval.
